Starbucks Music System at Cal Lutheran in Thousand Oaks, CA

A café on a college campus lives many lives in a day: early study sessions, the rush between classes, quiet afternoons with a laptop. For the Starbucks at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, we redesigned the music system to support all of them.

Six JBL Professional speakers spread sound evenly through the café, with no loud corners or dead spots, and a JBL subwoofer gives the music warmth and body at low volume, so it sits under conversation at the counter and focus at the tables instead of competing with them. Two weather-rated JBL speakers carry the music out to the patio, so the experience continues outside. The music is always there, and nobody notices it.
