UX for Spaces, authored by Blend’s principal and HAA-certified acoustic consultant, Jimmy Powers, starts there. We define what each space must do for the people in it, set acoustic targets the architecture, materials, and systems can meet together, and verify them once built. Acoustics stops being something added at the end and becomes part of how the building takes care of people.

Quiet enough to let someone sleep downstairs while the house is still awake. Privacy for the call next door. Soundproofing starts with every path sound can take: walls, floors, doors, ducts, and the connections between them. We set isolation targets for each space, address airborne and impact noise along with mechanical and HVAC noise, and coordinate assemblies and details with your architect, engineers, and builder while changes are still lines on a drawing.
Room acoustics and treatment.
Treatment shapes how sound behaves inside a room: how it reflects, builds, and decays. It’s why one dining room feels lively and another feels like shouting into a stairwell. We set reverberation and clarity targets for each space, then coordinate the location, depth, and finish of acoustic treatment with the interior design team, so materials do acoustic work while the room keeps its character.

At Arena Club in Los Angeles, Blend treated the conference room with ceiling clouds and acoustic wallcoverings, and the podcast studio with fabric-tracked walls and ceiling. Office acoustics follow the same approach: targets first, then treatment and isolation coordinated with the build.

We design restaurant and hotel acoustics around the experience you want: conversation at the table, atmosphere in the room, and quiet where guests rest. Treatment and isolation are coordinated with the architecture, so they read as part of the design.

We plan residential acoustics at schematic design, setting isolation and mechanical noise targets room by room, so privacy is built into the home rather than added later.

Critical listening depends on consistent bass across the seats, controlled reflections, and low background noise. We explore options in Particle, Blend’s acoustic modeling platform, comparing room behavior, isolation assemblies, and treatment while the design can still change. Predictions carry assumptions, so the finished space is measured against the agreed targets. Results are documented, giving the owner a clear record and a baseline for future changes.
