Los Angeles Home Theater, Automation, and Acoustic Design
In a city this loud, a home that feels calm is designed that way.
We design the light, sound, air, controls, and other technology of Los Angeles homes as one system, set to how each space should feel and perform. From the Hollywood Hills to Hancock Park, we design it, build it, and measure the result.

The city doesn't stop at your door.
Unless the house is designed to stop it.
Freeways, flight paths, close neighbors, and late nights all find their way inside. So does light from the street and the glare of an afternoon sun. Your body notices every bit of it, even when you don't. A home in Los Angeles should be designed to give you back quiet, darkness, and fresh air when you want them.
We invented the method and built the tools.
So every space is designed on purpose, not by default.
UX for Spaces is the method we developed to set human performance targets for sleep, focus, comfort, and gathering in every room. Particle, our acoustic modeling software, shows how a cinema or studio will sound before it's built. Aperture, the design platform we created, has been adopted by the Calm Tech Institute.

Cinemas, studios, and bedrooms, held to a standard.
The kind of standard the industry here works to.
We set measurable targets: reference sound and isolation in the cinema, accurate monitoring in the home studio, quiet in the bedroom under a flight path, light that follows the day. Systems are chosen to meet those targets, and every space is measured and calibrated when the work is done.

A designer who speaks acoustics, systems, and the craft of a great room.
Jimmy has spent about 25 years designing and building technology in homes, studios, and buildings. He is an HAA-certified acoustic consultant, a Crestron Certified Technology Architect, a certified UX designer, and a Recognized Design Partner of the Calm Tech Institute, and he created UX for Spaces, Particle, and Aperture. Press play. Everything else is already done.
The technology disappears into the way you live.
The cinema dims, the shades close, and the sound fills the room with one button. Music follows you through the house. The bedroom stays dark and quiet. A few well-placed keypads, one app, and a team that keeps it all running.

See the result before anything is installed.
Written briefs, coordinated drawings, and measured performance.
Each space gets a plain-language brief. Your architect and builder get drawings with every speaker, screen, keypad, shade pocket, and equipment space placed. For cinemas and studios, we model the acoustics before construction. At the end, we measure, calibrate, and document everything.
Great rooms are planned, not fixed.
Isolation, seating, and sightlines start in design.
A cinema's isolation is built into its walls, floor, and ceiling. A studio's accuracy depends on its dimensions. A quiet bedroom depends on the windows chosen for it. All of these are decisions for the plans, and expensive to undo once the walls close.

We work with your design team.
Remodel, new build, or a single room.
We partner with architects, builders, and interior designers across Los Angeles, from a full new build to one cinema or studio in an existing home. We work in neighborhoods including the Hollywood Hills, Los Feliz, Hancock Park, Brentwood, Cheviot Hills, and Encino, and in Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Pacific Palisades, Malibu, and Calabasas.
Spaces we've shaped.
Residences in Brentwood and Cheviot Hills, and a 25,000 square foot Bel Air estate with forty audio zones on one keypad.
A 54-seat private cinema in Westlake. A Dolby Atmos creative campus in Miami built from an empty warehouse. A Camarillo private club run from one interface. And our own Dolby Atmos studio in Agoura Hills, open to visit.
